We hold our annual meeting in June as a brunch at the Gardiners' Bay Country Club's scenic outdoor patio and invite public and coummunity leaders as our guest speakers. Above, LWVSI Presidnet Lois B. We hold an annual fundraiser--Swing Vote--where we all get dressed up in red, white and blue and kick up our heels to a live band.

In conjunction with The Retreat, an organization that provides support to victims of domestic violence, the LWSI held a forum in 2009, with (L to R)Tracy Lutz, Executive Director of the Retreat, Barbara Olton, President of the Retreat Board, Nicole Behrens, Secretary of the Retreat Board and Jim Read, SI Chief of Police.

On the 10th Anniversary of the LWVSI, we re-issued our Know Your Town publication that provides the community with all the information anyone would need to know about life on SI--past and present--"but were afraid to ask." To purchase a $10.00 copy please email:
